Short Description
DDEV has been the standard suggested local development environment for TYPO3 for years, and it’s easy to use, supported for many operating systems and environments. It doesn’t take long to get started. We’ll talk about why we use local development environments and work together to install DDEV on our own machines, do a simple TYPO3 installation and move from there to using TYPO3 on a site of your own. We’ll use an IDE and experiment with step-debugging with XDebug. Along the way we’ll talk about open-source collaboration and the wonderful cooperation between TYPO3 and DDEV.

Requirements
- Your own computer (or you can use a web browser to run DDEV and your project in the cloud)
- Ability to run Docker (or use a web browser to run DDEV in the cloud)
- An IDE to explore code and use Xdebug (Free VS Code or Non-free PhpStorm, or do it all in the cloud)
- Willingness to learn!
